New Bitcoin Hash Rate Record

Bitcoin's hash rate set a new record despite the loss of a key player.

Bitcoin's hash rate set a new record despite the loss of a key player. As the weak price action continues, Block CEO Jack Dorsey confirmed the creation of an open Bitcoin mining system.

The BTC space continues to surprise both its followers and its detractors. Kazakhstan, which is the second most important country for BTC mining, suffered an internet outage due to protests that broke out last week. However, the hash rate didn't drop more than 13.4% before it started to recover and soon set a new record.

As you can see in the graph below, the average hashrate has increased to 215 million TH / s.

Bitcoin miners continue to stand strong. According to Fidelity Digital Assets, the BTC network now shows "wider distribution around the world."

Addressing the usability, security, performance and product issues of Bitcoin mining, Templeton explained Block's goals in this area as follows:

“We want mining to be more distributed and more efficient in all respects, from procurement and installation to maintenance and mining. We show interest because mining goes beyond creating new Bitcoins. We see it as a long-term necessity for a fully decentralized and permissionless future. "
